Who we are always depends on other people before us. If we do not know them well, then we do not know ourselves well.

Hello from Greece No 2

We hope you remember how to say "Hello" in Greek so we won't repeat. And yes! We are always so sweet (even when we have a test)!

Hello from Greece

Hello in Greek is "Yiasas". It is written "Γειά σας"...And yes! We are always that frightening (apart from when we have a test)!

In the following video you can see some ways of saying hello. The scenery used in the background has been made by 10-year-old pupils with the help of their art teacher. Originally it was made for a competition where schools had to illustrate well-known tales. As our kids won this competition, we decided to use it for our video.

POLAND

Nowadays many kids in Poland use slang to say "hello".
The sentence "Hi, how are you?" has been changed several times:
Cześć, jak się masz?
Sie masz?
Sie ma!
Siemka!

POLAND

Greeting is a way to communicate awareness of each other's presence, to show attention to, and to suggest a type of relationship or social status between individuals or groups of people coming in contact with each other. Greetings can be expressed both audibly and physically, and often involve a combination of the two.
How do we say 'hallo"?
We shake hands.
Boys sometimes use "Soul Brother Handshake" - traditional handshake followed by hooking thumbs and holding each other's hand up.
Boys sometimes touch each others fists calling it "turtle sign"- facing palm slaps.
Men sometimes kiss women's hand.
Girls hug each other; cheek kissing is also popular-depending on situation the number of kisses is usually one, two, three.
